41 hours of padel without leaving the court: 4 Spaniards shatter the world record in Vigo

Padel has set a new world record.

Brais Rey, Martín Domínguez, Jorge Bigotes, and Pablo Santos have just played the longest match ever in the sport.

41 consecutive hours on the same track.

In late June 2026, at the Mais que Auga club in Barreiro, near Vigo, the four Spaniards beat the previous world record by one hour and made it into the record books.

The adventure begins on Friday, just after 12:05 a.m., and ends on Saturday after 8:30 p.m.

In between, 100 sets, extreme exhaustion, and a player who ends up barefoot!

What Happened on the Barreiro Runway

The event is part of the 12th Padel Tournament organized by the City Council of Vigo.

The goal was clear from the start: to break the Guinness World Record for the longest game and turn this feat into a cause for solidarity.

On the court, the match is going in favor of the duo of Brais Rey and Martín Domínguez.

The two men won 57 sets to 43 against Jorge Bigotes and Pablo Santos after 100 rounds of play.

A support team continuously monitors the physical condition of the four players to ensure that the challenge remains under control from start to finish.

The Real Enemy: Fatigue

The score matters less than the competition itself.

As the hours go by, the effort becomes as much a mental battle as a physical one.

My legs give out, my movements slow down, and the pain sets in.

The most striking detail comes from Brais Rey.

After so many hours of play, the player chooses to continue barefoot to relieve the accumulated pain.

An image that captures the state of organizations on the verge of collapse.

Staying alert, staying hydrated, and maintaining focus in the middle of the night: that’s the real challenge of a padel marathon lasting nearly two days.

A record broken by one hour—and a check to boot

Until then, the Guinness World Record for the longest padel match had stood since November 2025.

It was set at 40 hours in Blackpool, United Kingdom, by Nathan Young, Marcus Mollinga, Benny Evinson, and David Davies.

The Spanish team from Vigo finished in exactly 1 hour.

A narrow margin, but enough to set a new world record for endurance.

The feat also has a charitable aspect.

The mayor of Vigo, Abel Caballero, presents a check for 1,230 euros to the Spanish Cancer Association.

The prize pool grows by 1€ for every 2 minutes of play.

All that remains is the administrative step: official certification by Guinness World Records, which will enshrine these 41 hours in the history of padel!
